font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">A vegetative buffer is the most efficient and
cost-effective form of erosion control. For most sites, a minimum of 15 ft of
undisturbed vegetation is a sufficient buffer. Steep sites may require a larger
buffer area. A vegetative buffer can be reestablished on a disturbed site with
the installation of sod. Silt fence is the most commonly used form of erosion
control protection. Silt fence needs to be placed so that it includes all areas
of fill or disturbed soils, and the silt fence needs to be keyed into the
ground (buried up to the line, you should be able to pull up on the silt fence
at any point and it does not move at the ground). Additional BPMs may be needed
for sites with steep slopes.</span></span><span class="eop"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> </span></span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Segoe UI",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
